I bought this base to use the recip. saw attachment but the motor shut down after about ten min. The motor on this thing looks the same as the 12 volt base which is okay for the flush cut saw, unless you are using it to cut glazing around a piece of tempered glass.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I bought this and the 18 volt Jobmax head to replace a Feugo one handed 18 volt saw that was only working intermittantly, this piece did not make it one day!
No, I do not recommend this product.

Can this tool be used as a masonry cutoff tool?

Can this tool be used with a masonry (stone, tile, granite) cutoff wheel to trim a 1/4 in. thick stone backsplash? If so, what is the recommended cutoff wheel?
No it cannot use a cutoff wheel but it does have a attachment for removing grout that would cut very porous stone or ceramic tile, though it is not designed for this.
